A visit to San Antonio Riverwalk is by far the best activity to do in the city. And that´s not easy to say, as there are many other things to do and see in san Antonio, like visiting the historic San Antonio Missions. Choosing the best part of San Antonio Riverwalk is not easy neither, as there all kind of fun activities. Therefore we have made a list with the best things to do on the Riverwalk in San Antonio:
Casa Rio and the colorful umbrellas of San Antonio Riverwalk

Hard to say if it´s the best part of San Antonio Riverwalk, but it´s for sure on the top. Although Casa Rio´s food is absolutely delicious, this time we are not talking about it´s food, but about the colorfull umbrellas. We can even consider them now a symbol of the area. Plus they are perfect to get some good photos. Of course, if you have the chance, you should also try Casa Rio´s mexican food. Casa Rio was also the first business located by the river in the whole city. You will see all over the city, how much influence the mexican culture has over San Antonio, not just the restaurants, but many other things will remind you of Mexico.
San Antonio, the American Venice
Although it is not exactly the same, there is one thing that reminded us from Venice, which is the many canals you will find all over the river walk. If there´s one thing you need to do in Venice canals, that is getting lost while walking them. The same thing happens here in San Antonio. Of course make sure to bring the phone with you so you know how to go back to your hotel, but disconnecting for some hours and just exploring the around will surprise you and it will make you fall in love with it. For us, it was the best part of San Antonio Riverwalk.
San Antonio Riverwalk boat ride

We don´t usually like to do the touristic activities and we prefer to discover the city exploring them by ourselfs. But we had to try the San Antonio Riverwalk boat ride as it definetly seemed like something we couldn´t miss and it can be considered by many the best part of San Antonio. Now we can tell you, it was totally worth it. In despite of having to wait a little bit to get on the boat and being surrounded by the crowds, the boat ride is a completely different way to see the city. Another reason why we add it to the best part of San Antonio Riverwalk, is that it´s perfect to relax after a day walking through the city.
Hotels in San Antonio Riverwalk area

You will not regret staying one or two nights at any of the hotels located right in the Riverwalk. There is nothing like waking up and right from the bed having such an impressive. We got to stay at the Westin Riverwalk San Antonio and we cannot complain at all. The services were amazing and when we arrived they even brought us some texan fruit teas to our room. They were delicious. Another important advantage of being located that close, is that we could just go walking to all the main touristic activities of San Antonio.
When is the best time to visit San Antonio Riverwalk?

Due to how large the San Antonio Riverwalk is, you won´t have to worry about the big crowds. Unless you are planning to take a boat trip, in which we recommend you to either look for it with some time a head, or do it early in the morning when it will be more empty. That said, if you are visiting the city during summer months, the best time to visit San Antonio Riverwalk, will be early in the morning when it will not be so warm (it gets very hot during the day). The rest of the yeardon´t worry about it, you will enjoy it at any time of the day.
