As we told you at the begining, Germany is know for good and bad things, well the Berlin wall is a very important part of the dark side.

One of the most important symbols of the cold war, the Berlin Wall divided the country in two, the eastern and western side, but not just it, it also divided thousands of families and friends that weren´t able to see each other for almost 30 years. It also caused the death of many innocents who tried to scape the eastern side.

Now a days, what is left of it is covered with graffities and it is one of the most touristic spots in the country.

We know it is one of the most famous german stereotypes, but it is true though, germans are known for loving beer and drinking it quite often and not just it, germany is also known for making some of the best beers in the world.

You can tell how much they love beer, when you realize they rank in third position as the top beer consumers per-capita in Europe.

Speaking of beer, if you really want to try the best ones and feel like an authentic German, you should make it at least once in you life, to the most popular German event of the year, Oktoberfest.

Although drinking beer is an important part of it, don´t worry if you don´t like it, as it isn´t the only thing they do, they also eat their typical dishes and wear their traditional dresses. It is worth it going just to admire and enjoy the happy vibes.

Nowadays Oktoberfest is celebrated all over the country, you will even see it in different countries, but if you want to attend the original one, you should go to “Theresienwiese” in Munich from Septemeber to October.

Castles are also very famous in Germany, furthermore, it is the country with more castles in the world, there isn´t an official number of castles in Germany, but many expert believe there is more than 25000!

Out of all of them, there is one that stands out, Neuschwanstein Castle. This popular castle is located close to the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria.

The main reasons why this castle is so popular, is because Disney Castle was actually based on it. We must recognize Neuschwanstein Castle is absolutely stunning and it is a must see.

Hitler ruled the country from 1933 to 1945 and during those years, a world war started, more than 6 million innocent people were brutally killed for being different to the “non-aryan races” and a whole country lost its freedom.

To this point everything has already been said from the German Nazi and we won´t tell you anything new, but it is important to keep talking about it, so we learn from our mistakes and we never repeat them again.

If you are vegan or vegetarian, Germany might not be the best place to go if you want to try some new food as Germans trully love meat. Out of all those plates, there is one that stands out, which are sausages.

Sausages are made differently depending on the region, the taste and even the colour change completely.

Almost every important event of the year will include sausages in their menu, but when you trully realize how important this dish is for them, is when you hear there is a law that regulates the minimum size of one of their suasages.

Germans are known for beeing car lovers, a proove of it, is that many world wide famous car brands such as Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Volkswagen, Audi, or BMW started first in Germany. Not just that, but also, Germany is one of the leaders in the automotive industry, there is even a Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart!

Of course they also love to use those cars and that´s why in the 1930s one of the most important highway systems in the country was created. The Authbahn is known for having no speed limits and although this is not absolutely real, and many parts are limited to 130km/h (80 mph), it is true that in some times drivers go as fast as they want.

Germans love beeing perfectly organized and therefore, there are many laws that controls some aspects of the day to day. A great example of it, is how a pedestrians can be fined for crossing a red traffic light, even when there aren´t cars.

This may seem a bit too much for other countries, but believe it or not, thanks to their personality, this is what makes them be so productive at almost everything they do.

They are also very punctual too, so if you are ever dating someone from Germany or you have a business meeting, never be late!

That´s right! Germany is known as one of the best national soccer team in the world. It is tied with Italy as the second country in the world with more World Cup titles and they have just one less than Brazil. Germany is also on the top in the European Championship, as the country with more titles, only tied with Spain.

Bundesliga, the National German League, has never been considered as good as the Premier League, La Liga or the Serie A, but it is still is one of the best and FC Bayern München (from Munich) is one of the best teams in football history. It´s the third club (tied with Liverpool) with more UEFA Champions League.

Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany and he is considered by many, one of the most inteligent people in history.

Christmas is probably our favourite time of the year to travel to Germany, although it is true that it gets pretty cold, seeing all the cities covered with snow and admiring such a great atmosphere is totally worth it.

The Christmas markets are a very important part of these festive days as they make the cities warmer during the cold days.

In our opinion Germany has some of the most impressive Christmas Markets in the world, if you are planning on seeing them next winter, we recommend you either going to Dresden, Cologne or Berlin.

Germany is also well known for being the home country of many incredible musicians, not just nowadays, but also in the past.

Bread is so important, that each region of the country has its own way of making it. There are more than 300 varieties of bread, they change depending on the cereal, you will find dark, white, sweet, soft, plain, different shape… all of them are similar but different at the same time.
